Training for laser safety officers successful again
More and more companies are using laser radiation to process a wide variety of materials. This also increases the need for occupational safety and the establishment of safe workplaces at the laser systems. For many companies, the appointment of a laser safety officer is therefore mandatory.
At ifw Jena, four new laser safety officers were trained this week in a two-day seminar. One participant extended his qualification with the examination.
In the seminar, the participants receive extensive knowledge about laser radiation - from the structure of a laser to the effect of laser radiation on the human body to possible measures to make laser workplaces safe, the participants are given all the necessary knowledge to become active in their company as laser safety officers.
In addition, the participants can gain practical experience directly in the laser laboratories of ifw Jena and apply their acquired knowledge in exercises.
We congratulate all five participants on passing the examination and wish them every success in their work as laser safety officers.
The next training for laser safety officers takes place on December 8 2021.
