Training program online
With the expertise from the research areas, ifw Jena supports companies in optimizing and expanding their production processes. This expertise is also used to train personnel in industrial companies and to communicate the latest findings from research.
This year, ifw Jena will once again be hosting a variety of seminars, training courses and educational programs starting in April.
Welding technology
In addition to the continuous training of welders, the in-service training to become an International Welding Specialist will again be offered. Welding specialists can assume responsibility for welding processes in their company and take on the role of welding supervisor. Since 2021, the training has taken place hybrid, so that participants can take part in the training both on-site at the institute and online from anywhere in the world.
In addition, welding supervisors for reinforcing steel welding will be trained in May, who can then assume responsibility for welding processes on reinforcing steel.
In June, the 28th Jena practical seminar for welding coordinators will also be held on two dates. Every year, welding inspectors can find out about the latest developments in welding processes and also about changes in regulations and standards.
Laser technology
Twice in 2022, laser safety officers will also be trained who can assume responsibility for occupational safety for companies in which laser radiation is used.
Materials testing
The seminars "Visual evaluation of weld seams" and "Materials technology for buyers and quality employees" provide basic knowledge of materials testing to prepare employees for quality assurance processes.
Additive manufacturing
In the field of additive manufacturing, a new seminar was added to the program alongside the training course for additive manufacturing specialists: The Operator Powder Bed Fusion – Laser Beam training is based on the EWF-AM-QUAL-003-19 guideline and prepares participants to assume responsibility for powder bed-based additive manufacturing processes in the company. The training is modular. Each teaching unit can be taken individually. The qualification as operator PBF-LB is awarded after successful participation in all seminars.
