CERTIFIED DVS-TRAINING CENTER
Our DVS-certified training center is located in our welding laboratory. This is where our practical and theoretical seminars, training and further training courses take place. The welding course facility was extensively modernized in 2023 and offers excellent conditions for all welding courses.
Our practical training courses are based on the training guidelines of the DVS - German Association for Welding and Allied Processes e.V. and the European and International Associations (EWF, IIW).
Our basic and advanced training courses are conducted by certified welding instructors. In the modernized course facility, modern equipment from various manufacturers is available for the courses.
In our trainings and courses you can acquire basic or in-depth knowledge of different welding processes. Ifw Jena has had experience in welding training and further education since 1991.
Our courses are modular in structure and build on already existing knowledge of the participants. We provide comprehensive training documents.
We are a certified educational institution for welders and welding supervisors (AZAV). Registration number 19 - 16416 - NT.
All welding process trainings are certified according to AZAV by CERTQUA. Upon successful completion of the courses, you will receive valid welder certificates according to DIN EN ISO 9606 and a worldwide recognized IIW diploma as International Welder.
The digitalization of the equipment of the Welding Training Centre at ifw Jena is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection on the basis of a resolution of the German Bundestag.

If you are traveling by car:
- Leave the A4 freeway at the Jena-Göschwitz exit in the direction of Jena Zentrum
- Turn onto Göschwitzer Straße at the first set of traffic lights - straight ahead from Dresden, turn right from Frankfurt
- Follow the road straight ahead for about 2 kilometers
- Turn left into Ernst-Ruska-Ring and keep left along the railroad tracks
- You will find parking spaces to the right of the railroad tracks at the southern end of the property
- The entrance is located along the Ernst-Ruska-Ring in the middle of the building
