On April 18, 15 students visited the ifw Jena as part of the Optonet Master+ program.

Every year, Optonet e. V. gives students at Thuringian universities the opportunity to get to know companies from the industry with its Master+ program. The program enables students on technical and optical master's degree courses to optimally prepare for their career entry.

The ifw Jena also participates in the program and regularly gives students the opportunity to visit the institute. During this year's visit, the students learned about current research projects in the fields of CO2 and USP laser processing and talked to colleagues and student employees at ifw Jena about their daily work.

Afterwards, the participants toured the laboratories and were able to get to know the various systems for additive manufacturing, laser processing, water jet cutting and furnace-based processes.
