We are constantly investing in our digital infrastructure in order to further optimize our research work in-house and to make collaboration between the individual research areas more accessible. This investment is supported by the Free State of Thuringia and co-financed by funds from the European Union as part of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The institute provides digital tools so that the scientists and technicians at ifw Jena can concentrate primarily on their research work for our industrial partners. With better hardware and up-to-date software, the knowledge gained can be more efficiently secured, stored, communicated and transferred to companies. By updating and expanding the digital infrastructure, employees are supported in their work.
The subsidized investment in the digital infrastructure includes:
- Server expansion on-premise including backup
- Adaptation of the firewall
- Standardization of software, in particular Microsoft Office
- Digital workflow time management
- Image management system
- Digitization of process chains
- FEM upgrade (hardware and software)
- Workstation extension for system programming
