Fachausschuss Luftfahrt der DGZfP am ifw Jena

Mitglieder des Fachausschusses Luftfahrt der DGZfP zu Gast am ifw Jena
On November 6, 2025, the DGZfP Technical Committee met at the ifw Jena.

Around 20 members of the Aviation Subcommittee of the German Society for Non-Destructive Testing met at ifw Jena. With its accredited materials testing laboratory and wide range of research work on lightweight construction applications for aerospace, the institute was a suitable venue for discussing current developments in quality assurance in aviation.

The committee members were not only able to gain new insights in joint discussions, but also to get to know the ifw Jena and its facilities.

Maximilian Streinz, research assistant in additive manufacturing, reported on his research work on amorphous metals. In the AmorFeTa project, he and his colleagues investigated efficient methods of processing amorphous metals using powder bed-based processes to manufacture lightweight components for aerospace applications. In doing so, they succeeded in combining the advantages of additive manufacturing with the outstanding material properties of amorphous metals.

During laboratory tours, guests were able to learn about the entire spectrum of the institute and its individual research areas.

We were delighted to welcome our guests and engage in mutual exchange.
