Hand-held welding with a laser beam offers advantages for companies, especially when working with thin sheets and long weld seams. Weld seams can be produced more flexibly, more easily, and, above all, more quickly. Many companies now use hand-guided laser beam welding to supplement arc processes in order to make their work more economical.
At ifw Jena, we pass on the experience we gain in our research projects on the process in our courses. In a three-day training course, we teach welders the theoretical and practical knowledge they need to weld safely with laser beams. In addition to the basics of laser processing and the special features of laser beam welding, the course also covers the necessary occupational safety and laser protection measures, various plant technologies, and, above all, practical exercises in our welding laboratories.
The courses are tailored to the requirements of the companies; practical exercises are carried out on various materials and weld seam geometries.
The course ends with a welder's examination in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9606-1.
