Science-cooperations in Kasakhstan

From March 30 to April 2, 2026, LEG Thüringen invited Thuringian research institutes and companies to establish new contacts in Kazakhstan. 

For several months now, we have been in contact with researchers at Satbayev University in Almaty and are planning potential joint research projects in the field of additive manufacturing. During the business trip, we took the opportunity to learn about the work of our Kazakh colleagues firsthand and to plan the implementation of new ideas with them.

In the second half of the week, the Thuringian delegation visited the Kazakhstan Machinery Fair in Astana and the Mechanical Engineering Forum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the trade fair and conference, we established contacts with industrial companies to learn about their needs and plans and to identify new research topics together.

The trip is a good opportunity for our colleagues to exchange ideas with users and scientists from Kazakhstan and to discuss current developments with them.
