The CARBOLITE HTK 80/16 opens up new possibilities for us to expand our research into furnace-based processes.
The new furnace reaches temperatures of up to 1,600 °C, enabling us to investigate new materials. Thanks to the large furnace chamber, we can also heat-treat large-format components.
In addition, the furnace features a heated exhaust system, a fresh oil pump for binder absorption, and a molybdenum heating element.
With this new furnace system, we can focus our research more closely on current heat treatment and sintering applications.
The investment was funded by the Thuringian Center for Mechanical Engineering through the Thuringian Ministry of Economics, Agriculture, and Rural Affairs, and co-financed with funds from the European Union.
Incidentally, our colleagues christened the sintering system with the melodious name “Sinterella.”
