For the qualification of preliminary welding instructions, welding process tests on metallic materials are carried out in the material testing laboratory of ifw Jena. The main purpose of qualifying the welding process is to prove that the joining process proposed for the construction is suitable for making joints that meet the mechanical properties of the intended application.
In the material testing laboratory mainly the following international rules are applied:
DIN EN ISO 15614-1
- Requirements and qualification of welding procedures for metallic materials – Welding procedure test – Part 1: Arc and gas welding of steels and arc welding of nickel and nickel alloys
DIN EN ISO 15614-2
- Requirements and qualification of welding procedures for metallic materials – Welding procedure test – Part 2: Arc welding of aluminum and its alloys
DIN EN ISO 15614-11
- Requirements and qualification of welding processes for metallic materials – Welding procedure test – Part 11: Electron and laser beam welding
DIN EN ISO 15613
- Requirement and qualification of welding processes for metallic materials – qualification based on a preliminary working test
DIN EN ISO 14555
- Welding – arc stud welding of metallic materials
