Hybrid production methods and intelligent process chains
The aim of the research group's work is to develop and present "intelligent" process chains for the manufacture and processing of components relevant to mechanical engineering by means of hybrid production methods. This is to take place along the value-added chain, starting with additive production, through machining and finishing to the joining of hybrid components. The components to be included in the investigations will be designed in so-called multi-material construction. The aim of the research group is therefore the investigation of basic methods and technologies for the design of such hybrid process chains. The interaction of material and processing technologies in relation to the component to be manufactured is investigated. Conclusions for the optimal design of both the sub-processes and the entire process chain are derived from this.
