Simulation and materials technological evaluation
The aim of the research project is the development and the elaboration of design boundary conditions for a heating concept for diffusion welding, which realizes the heat input into the component by contact heating, i.e. heat conduction. Process temperatures of up to 900 °C and the possibility of dynamic force application for use in high vacuum furnace systems are aimed for. Conductive heating avoids the lossy and emission-dependent heat transfer by radiation that occurs in vacuum. Thus, the energy input into the mostly plate-shaped parts to be joined is considerably more efficient, homogeneous and faster. The result of the research project is the development and evaluation of a heating system which allows a significant increase in energy efficiency during diffusion welding and significantly reduced cycle times. Thus, a significant cost reduction of the joining process diffusion welding and an increase of the component quality is achieved, as well as the competitiveness of the process is increased.
