Development of a diffusion bonding manufacturing process for microreactors

The aim of the project is to establish and to intensify a collaboration between the Université de Sherbrooke in Québec, Canada and ifw Jena. Together, diffusion bonding is to be qualified as a manufacturing process for an electrically heated microreactor for hydrogen production, thus contributing to the economic production of such reactors.
Since the reactor design has to be adapted to the joining technology diffusion bonding, a constant knowledge transfer of both partner institutions on hydrogen production and diffusion bonding takes place in the project. In addition, further points of contact for future cooperation are to be found in workshops, meetings and through project documentation.
In addition to the manufacturing process of the micro reactors, the project also aims to get to know each other's research structures at the partners in Germany and Canada in order to establish international business-oriented research projects.
