SIMULATION AND DESIGN FEM, CFD, CAD

The area of simulation and design includes the development and provision of technical facilities for research work at ifw Jena. In close cooperation with the individual research areas aids, fixtures, test benches and smaller systems are developed.

The constructions are usually an essential part of a research project. They are often so special that they are difficult to obtain from external sources. Executing the design and simulation work directly at ifw Jena enables efficient and agile processing of all research projects.

For the simulations mainly the finite element method (FEM) and the flow simulation (Computational Fluid Dynamics, CFD) are used.
