Standardized, glass-bonded atomic vapor cells for optically pumped magnetometers
In the project, atomic vapor cells for optical magnetometers and other quantum systems are to be fabricated from coated quartz plates by means of UKP microwelding. The aim is to produce monolithic, hermetically sealed cells of defined internal pressure that do not require any vacuum technology.
To this end, the welding process for this application must be developed and mechanically qualified, internal coatings must be and to demonstrate the function of the quantum system. With the help of the developed manufacturing principle for atomic vapor cells quantum technologies are to be used in measuring devices in everyday industry.
